A truly private Aberdeenshire wedding venue
One of the first things couples love about Elsick House is just how hidden and secluded it feels. You could easily drive past the entrance without realising it’s there, which makes it feel incredibly exclusive. Once you arrive, it’s hard to believe such a peaceful venue exists so close to Aberdeen.
Because Elsick House offers on-site accommodation, many couples choose to stay for the full wedding weekend. From a photography and videography point of view, this creates a much more relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of time to capture natural moments across the entire celebration — not just the ceremony itself.
Incredible grounds for ceremony and portraits
The grounds at Elsick House are honestly outstanding. There are several ceremony options, but my personal favourite is right at the bottom of the garden, where the bride and bridal party can take a long, meaningful walk beneath the flower arch. It’s a beautiful moment and gives plenty of time to take everything in before the ceremony begins — something that always translates incredibly well on film.
After the ceremony, the gardens offer ample space for guests to enjoy drinks, while also giving us countless options for your couple photo and video session. Whether you’re looking for something romantic, relaxed, or cinematic, Elsick House delivers every time.

Karen and Joyce from Elsick House, alongside Victoria from Hudsons Catering, are some of the most welcoming professionals you’ll ever meet. Their friendly, calm approach genuinely makes couples (and suppliers!) feel at home, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day.
And speaking of Hudsons — the food is always exceptional. Fantastic catering is guaranteed, which keeps guests happy and the day running smoothly.
